Sad, white man in turtleneck

Carlisle James felt “angry and sad” — feelings that came on suddenly after someone stated the fact that his grandparents’ choices were really fucked up.

“I don’t get why they have to make me feel bad about it,” said James. “It’s not like I did anything at all or am doing anything now by taking it personally and ignoring facts.”

White people everywhere are being afflicted with feelings of sadness, also known as “The Big Sad” coined by white-centric media outlets such as pretty much all of them.

“It’s more complicated than that,” continued James. “It was a different time…

Man (left) who understands woman (right).

“My friend Gina friend-zoned me last month,” Brad Broley, told reporters. “So I’ve been letting her talk about feelings a lot so maybe she’ll change her mind.”

Broley, local hero and 32-year-old “good guy” has a sister and a mother, so he understands everything women-oriented.

“Look, my mom and sister go to therapy,” Broley says, “I don’t know why because I’m always happy in our family and in life, but I know something is wrong with them, so I just try to be supportive.”

Gina, Broley’s friend (for now), has expressed her gratitude for a man who is willing to…

Misleading sign in Restroom.

Michelle Newman was out to breakfast with her mother-in-law when her waiter walked over to the table looking nervous. Minutes before, after they’d ordered, Newman’s husband’s mom, Pamela, had gone to the restroom.

Their waiter approached their table after she’d excused herself and appeared to be sweating. “Ma’am,” he addressed Newman, his voice now nine octaves higher. “You’re friend, um. A woman using the restroom in the stall next to her, um…”

Before he could get the words out Newman already knew what had happened, as this had happened almost every time they had gone anywhere.

“Let me guess,” she…

Man in bowtie with stars on it, signifying clear adulthood

For many, Thursday was an ordinary day, full of insane POTUS tweets, poor air quality, and pre-holiday-season dread. But, for Matthew Wilson, Nov. 15, 2018 marked the day he officially joined 11.1 million men-children in becoming an “adult”.

“I mean, my twenties were chill, but 30 — that’s like a big deal, you know?” Wilson told reporters. “Like, I can finally stop walking around pretending I know what I’m doing and just, like, you know…know what I’m doing.”

Whether or not Wilson will ever truly know what he’s doing has yet to be determined, though experts encourage the reduction of…

Poster for Blindspotting

There are few movies today that adequately engage in the intersections of power and identity. It’s a shame because, given our history and the way it’s shaped today’s reality, we need these films as much as ever.

Written by its stars, Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs, Blindspotting all but overtly asks its audience to reflect on our individual stances in the world and how they shape our perceptions, our interactions and our environments.

Together, the direction, writing and cinematography poses this question in a way that doesn’t feel like a challenge. …

Gluten-Infused Hiding Place

“I don’t like running into anyone I know at the store,” Minerva Blume told reporters. “But when I saw Leonard by the yogurt aisle I went into flight mode. I mean, shit, it was midday during the work week. I had a top bun and was wearing my mom jeans. I didn’t expect to see anyone except the checker.”

At the time of the incident, Blume held a box of tampons, three tubs of hummus and a tomato. Claiming to have only run in for a few items, she neglected to grab a cart or bring in a cloth bag.

Little Teapots

“I stood there for, like, six hours waiting. Just waiting,” recalls Becky Delaney with tears in her eyes. “I mean, we all know how the song goes, ‘Blah, blah here’s my handle, here’s my spout, when I get all steamed up hear me shout, tip me over and pour me out.’ Did anyone tip me? No. No one did.”

Despite the clear directions delineated in the children’s tune, Delaney and her three friends, also all named Becky, haven’t been poured out for nearly a decade.

Social Psychologist Myron Goffman first noticed the pattern when Instagram went public back in 2010…

Ocean’s 8 Poster - Warner Bros. Studios

Remakes, prequels, and sequels frequently degrade what initially made originals great. They tend to overdo homages or tread too heavily on the same trope all while attempting to disguise a hackneyed approach with new casts and locations.

Ocean’s 8, however, is a pleasant surprise in that it gives winks to past storylines of Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen, without relying on them.

With subtle nods to Debbie Ocean’s (Sandra Bullock) relationship to brother Danny Ocean (George Clooney), and a framed picture of him on a bureau, the film is able to build from…

The afflicted green lying ill on what is likely a cutting board.

“I’m actually already living in lots of people’s stomachs,” The infamous bacteria told reporters. “And I’m only really harmful when mixed with an enticing looking vegetable and a person’s poorly functioning immune system. What I’m saying is, I’m not toxic on my own. Maybe if that romaine wasn’t dressed the way it was, I wouldn’t have reacted with it the way I did.”

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 98 illnesses from E.Coli have been reported in 22 states since mid April. There have been 46 hospitalizations and zero product recalls meaning E.Coli …

LOL: Sounds like a good Saturday.

CW: Oh and by the…
